C.I.T.A. represents the interests of the European industry of upholstery fabrics and provides a forum for the exchange of politic, economic and technical information. All its activities aim at preservation and improvement of the competitiveness of the European industry of upholstery fabrics.

C.I.T.A. is engaged in different task force groups at EURATEX working on industrial strategies, export promotion or environmental affairs etc. thus assuring that also the special interests of the industry of upholstery fabrics among those of the various branches of the textile and clothing industry are considered during the negotiations with EU Commission.

Barriers to trade affairs and protection of design are very important fields where C.I.T.A. is engaged in.

C.I.T.A. takes also an active part in the works of CEN on harmonization of the different technical standards for upholstery fabrics in Europe.
